WORKING AS AN EXTENSION

Working for Stearns & Harris

Please remember that as an Extension, you are indeed an extension of Stearns & Harris’ staff, and we have high expectations of our staff members.

Stearns & Harris pays employees through TFI Resources. In order to fill out the appropriate paperwork, you can access www.tfiforms.com, and when asked for your recruiter name, please enter “Stearns Harris”, remembering to include the space between “Stearns” and “Harris”. You may then download the forms and fax them back as instructed.

Job Assignments

It is important that you maintain contact with your Stearns & Harris recruiter regarding your availability, completion or extension of assignment, change in contact information, questions, feedback, or any other matter related to your employment.

When you are called for an assignment, we will provide you with the job description, location, client contact name, work hours, rate of pay, and all other pertinent details. The rate of pay is based on each specific assignment, and you have the option of accepting or declining all positions offered. Once you accept a particular assignment, you are committed to completing the duration of the assignment.

Arriving to the assignment at the designated time is very important. Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early on the first day of the assignment. If for some reason you are unable to arrive at the job site on time, or you are unable to work due to an unforeseen reason, you must speak directly with a Stearns & Harris staff member, and/or leave a message with Stearns & Harris on our voicemail as soon as possible before the scheduled start time.

Every extension assignment has the potential of converting into a position with the Client Company, however there are never any guarantees. Keep Stearns & Harris informed if a Client Company approaches you regarding a position with them. There is never any cost to you if this happens.

On the Job

Your on-site supervisor will explain all Client Company policies and specific instructions concerning your assignment. Take lunch and breaks at the assigned time, and always be punctual in returning to work.

If you need to be excused from a day of work, you must contact our office at least one day in advance and speak with your Stearns & Harris recruiter.

While on the job, if a problem should ever develop between you and a co-worker or supervisor, or if you feel that the work is beyond your capabilities, contact your Stearns & Harris recruiter immediately. Under no circumstances should you leave your assignment without discussing the matter with your Stearns & Harris recruiter.
